Joan Lundeen, age 91, of Huron, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Avera Hand County Hospital in Miller. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial to follow at St. Martin Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday morning.

Joan Clara Losey was born on February 13, 1932, in Huron, South Dakota to parents Clyde and Mary (Halter) Losey. She grew up in the Miller and Highmore area, graduating from Miller High School.

Joan married Donald Lundeen on March 14, 1951, in Manitou Springs, Colorado. To this union, one son, Douglas, was born. Joan and Don lived in Anchorage, Alaska from 1951-1952 while Don was stationed with the US Army. Joan and Don moved back to Huron where she worked at NW Bank from 1953 to 1987. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and Holy Trinity Catholic Church Alter Society.

She is survived by her son, Douglas (Kathy) Lundeen of Rapid City; and her stepdaughter, Rita (Allen) Timm of Fredonia, WI; 4 grandchildren, John (Chrissy) Lundeen of Alabama, Leanne Thrash of Mississippi, Gretchen (Brian) Errea of Rapid City and Paul Alley of Rapid City; and 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Clyde and Mary, her husband, Donald in 2018, 5 sisters, Florence Danielson, Nellie Bloodgood, Inez Manning, Catherine Paye, and Mary Ghalson, and 1 brother, Charles Losey.
