Jim E. Fode, age 77, of Wolsey, died Monday, December 8, 2014 at his home. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Jim was born on April 30, 1937 in Norfolk, NE to Emil and Betty (Horn) Fode. He attended high school in Huron until he entered the U.S. Navy on May 25, 1955. He served as an electricians mate 2nd Class for 4 years until his honorable discharge on May 6, 1959. Jim returned to South Dakota later that year and worked on the construction of the Oahe Dam. He then returned to California and worked in the shipyards for 30 years retiring in 1995. He moved to Wolsey after his retirement where he resided until his passing. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and cheering for the Oakland Raiders football team. He is survived by his wife, Pam Fode of Wolsey; 1 step daughter, Rhonda (Darren) Hokanson of Sioux Falls; 2 step-grandchildren; and 1 brother. He was preceded in death by his parents.
