Obituary

Jerry Minium, age 67, of McDonough, Georgia, and formerly of Huron, died Monday, October 17, 2005, at Sacred Journey Hospice at McDonough. His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Ascher officiating. Burial will be at the Wolsey Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday until time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Georgia Chapter, 455 Abernathy Road NE #210, Atlanta, GA 30328. Jerry Wayne Minium was born on February 9, 1938, to Paul and Alice (Werner) Minium at Huron, SD. He grew up and received his education in Wolsey. He entered and served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge he attended Foothill Junior College in Los Altos, CA, and San Jose State University in San Jose, CA, graduating with distinction from both. He was a CPA practicing for many years in California until his retirement when he moved to Georgia. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and an inspiration to his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Alice Minium of Huron; his special companion, Mary Minium of McDonough, GA; 1 son, James (Louise) Minium of Brooks, GA; 1 daughter, Kristine (David) DeLisle of Menlo Park, CA; 1 sister, Mary Ann (David) Rand of Huron, SD; 1 brother, Larry Ray Minium of Yuma, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Nicole Minium, Jessica Minium, James DeLisle, Joseph DeLisle, and Ian DeLisle; and 1 great grandchild, Arias James Verduzco.
