Jeffrey J. Hanebuth, age 40, of Aberdeen, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his home in Aberdeen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, November 9, from 4-6 PM at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a prayer service to begin at 6 PM.

Inurnment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Walnut Grove, MN at a later date.

Jeffrey James Hanebuth was born June 29, 1983, to Gary and Susan (DeHaven) Hanebuth in Wadena, MN. He grew up and attended school in Huron, SD, graduating from Huron High School in 2001. Jeff went on to earn a technical degree in Satellite Communications from Mitchell Tech. Jeff married Kayla Bitterman, where they spent their time together living in Artesian, SD. He later moved to Mitchell where he drove truck for Porter's, before moving to Austin, MN, where he drove truck for the packing plant. In 2023, Jeff moved to Aberdeen. He worked for Wright tree cutting service, then started his own company called JHan Tree Service.

Jeff loved playing guitar, especially with his sister Jennifer. He had a passion for bowling and golf and played both in Huron and Mitchell frequently. Jeff loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Grateful for having shared Jeff's life are his parents: Sue and Kent Kouf; his siblings: Jennifer (Justin) Frank, Josh (Denise) Hanebuth, and Trent Kouf; his nieces: Gracie Warren, Katherine Frank, Kylie Hanebuth, Summer Hanebuth, and Alexis Hanebuth; his grandmother: Norma DeHaven; his uncle Pete (Diane) Hanebuth; his cousins: Jon, Jeff, Jim, Jake, and Heather; and Kayla Bitterman and her children: Jaslyn and Levi Bitterman.

Preceding Jeff in death are his father, Gary Hanebuth; his grandfather, Gene DeHaven; grandmother, Bernice Hanebuth; and aunts: Carol DeHaven-Roy and Nancy (Virgil) Osland.
