Janice Skorheim, age 82, of Huron, died Saturday, September 18, 2010, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, at American Lutheran Church with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation with family present will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home; or Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service.

Janice Skorheim was born Janice Elaine Weisbecker, daughter of Albert and Hazel (Gillis) Weisbecker, on July 30, 1928, in Aberdeen, SD. She graduated from high school in Aberdeen. She then attended and received her nursing degree from St. Johns School of Nursing in Huron.

On January 18, 1953, Janice married Harold Skorheim in Huron. Janice worked as a nurse at Sprague Hospital and Huron Nursing Home. She also worked as a clerk at Perriton Drug & Jewelry Store, and at McKinley School as a teachers aide.

She was a member of American Lutheran Church. Her many interests included reading, crocheting and playing cards.

She is survived by her husband, Harold of Huron; 3 daughters, Susan Reinhart of Rapid City, Nancy (Bob) Lorenz of Parkston, and Colleen (Mark) Fischer of Aberdeen; 3 sons, Richard Skorheim of Huron, Joseph (Linda) Skorheim of Huron, and Sam Skorheim of Huron; 11 grandchildren, Alisha Reinhart, Ben (Kelli) Fischer, Abby Fischer, Matt Fischer, Maggie (Dustin) Stevens, Bart Lorenz, Brady Hastings, Kortney Hastings, Seth Hastings, Jessica Skorheim, and Sara Skorheim; 4 great grandchildren, Colton Jungemann, Mason Hastings, Rayden Hastings, and Jesse Hastings; 1 sister-in-law, Margaret Weisbecker of Mankato, MN; and 1 brother, Al (Mary Jane) Weisbecker of Madison, SD.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Cap Weisbecker; and 1 sister, Beverly Ochs.
