Jane Dunning, age 86, of Huron, SD, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at SunQuest HealthCare Center in Huron. Her memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at Pibel Bible Camp in Pibel Lake, NE, with burial of her cremated remains at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pibel Lake. There will be no visitation. Jane Dunning, daughter of James and Pearl (Allen) Stivers, was born on March 20, 1925, in Auburn, NE. She grew up there, graduating from Auburn High School in 1943. She then attended Peru State Teachers College in Peru, NE, graduating in 1945 with her teacher's certificate. She taught in country school for one year. On June 30, 1945, Jane married Dwaine Dunning at her parent's home in Auburn. Jane was a homemaker all of her life but also assisted her husband in his ministry as a pastor as they traveled to various Christian Church locations in Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona, Texas, and South Dakota, settling in Huron for their retirement. She was a member of the Christian Church and many of the church's organizations and committees. Her interests included cooking and collecting recipes. She is survived by her husband, Dwaine of Huron; 1 son, Gregory (Roslyn) Dunning of Oro Valley, AZ; 1 daughter, Deirdre "Deedee" (Terry) Dabney of Huron; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; and 3 brothers and spouses, Dick (Betty) Stivers, Earl (Onilee) Stivers, and Charles (Pauline) Stivers.
