James J. Watteyne, 77, of Huron, formerly Norfolk, Nebraska, passed away Friday, April 7th, 2017, at SunQuest Healthcare Center. A private service will be held at a later date.
James Joseph Watteyne was born June 16, 1939. He was adopted by Ralph and Mary Watteyne in Norfolk, Nebraska, where he attended school, Jr. college, and Wayne State College. He then moved to Huron, SD, where he worked as a Roofer. He married Alice Rosella McClure. They then moved back to Norfolk, Nebraska, where they ran and owned The Mint Bar until they sold it. He then worked for IBP Pork plant.
James is survived by Step sons; Terry (Marvis) McClure of Huron, SD, and Ronald McClure of Guston, KY; 7 step grandchildren; Robert (Natalia) McClure of Germantown, MD, Brenda (James) Bishop of Willis, TX, Kathy (Kyle) Meyer of Huron, SD, Ronald McClure Jr. and Rhonda McClure of Colorado, Gene McClure Jr, of Parmalee, SD, and Lisa Patterson, of Indianapolis, IN; numerous step great grandchildren; and close friend Red Bauer.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Alice (Rose); step sons Gene McClure and Douglas McClure.
