James D. Glanzer, age 49, of Hillside Colony, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls following a lengthy battle with Farmers Lung.

His funeral will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Hillside Colony with burial in Hillside Colony Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning until service time.

He was born to David and Susie (Wollman) Glanzer on October 3, 1960 in Huron, SD. He lived at Huron Colony until he moved to Hillside Colony near Doland in 1961 where he resided until his death.

James was united in marriage to Margaret Waldner on July 8, 1984.

He served the community in a number of positions, including Farm Manager for 16 years, an occupation that he greatly enjoyed.

His memory will forever be cherished by; his wife of 26 years, Margaret; three children, Lisa (Jeff) Clark of Lawrence, KS, Rebecca (Luke) Glanzer of Clark Colony, James Glanzer of Hillside Colony; his parents, David and Susie Glanzer of Hillside and his mother-in-law, Annie Waldner of Maple River, 4 brothers; 3 sisters; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents; his sister, DyAnn; father-in-law, Andrew Waldner; sisters-in-law, Lisa, Susanne, and Clara; uncles; aunts; and one niece.

He touched the lives of all that knew him and we feel blessed to have had him in our lives for these 49 years. We feel that was way too short, but the Lord has other plans for him. Jim, we love you and will miss you forever.
