Obituary

James D. Felderman, age 68, of Doland, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center due to complications from covid. His memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Welter Funeral Home in Huron.

James Douglas Felderman was born on September 17, 1952 in Huron to parents Robert and Sara (Scott) Felderman. He grew up in the Doland area and graduated from Doland High School in 1970.

Jim loved to farm and was very mechanical; he could fix anything. Jim enjoyed collecting antiques, attending gun shows, and restoring classic cars – Fords were his specialty! There was never a restoration too big for Jim; he started many…he finished a few. Even though he may have not have had the chance to see them all through, he loved the thrill of a new project, and the vision of what could be. Those were his hobbies - his passion was his family. He treated his nephews as his own sons. He frequently took them to the weekly car races in Huron; even if it meant they were tired for school the next day. He never missed their games, and enjoyed teaching them the ins and outs of country living. His lessons in hunting and trapping will live on through the generations of the Felderman boys. His love for his family extended to his great nieces and nephews. No surprise, he took them hunting, cheered them on in sports, and celebrated in their joy for life. A happy-go-lucky guy, Jim had a nickname for everyone he knew and had a knack for impressions that would rival the greats. Jim was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Doland.

Jim is survived by his father Robert Felderman of Doland, brother Jeff (Vickie) Felderman of Doland, special friend, Lynette Rahm of Turton, SD, two nephews, Ryan (Shelli) Felderman of Brandon and Chris (Angie) Felderman of Sioux Falls, 5 great nieces and nephews, Zach, Kylie, Luke, Connor, and Brenna.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Felderman.
