Iva P. Wahl, age 78, of 1345 Michigan Ave. SW, Huron, died on Monday, September 15, 2008, at the Sun Quest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Her Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2008, at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum in Huron, South Dakota.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, from 4-8 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 6- 8 p.m.
Iva P. Schinderling, the daughter of Gerhardt and Maude (Lefler) Schinderling, was born on December 4, 1929, in Huron, SD. Iva attended Morningside country school. She married Cecil F. Wahl on June 18, 1949 in Mitchell, SD. Iva worked at Magness Caf and the Sunset for many years.
Iva was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and the Salvation Army. She was also a lifetime member of the Forrest McMullen VFW Post #1776, and the 8 et 40. Iva enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
Grateful for having shared her life are her four sons, Dale, Daniel, and Dennis Wahl, all of Huron, SD, and Robert Wahl, Springfield, SD; her daughter Dorothy (Robert) Parker, Letcher, SD; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrtle Schinderling, Corsica, SD, and Francella Lentz, of Huron, SD.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil in 1990; two sons, Donald and Cecil Wahl Jr.; two sisters and one brother.
