Iva (Dammann)Franklin, age 90, of 805 13th St. SW, Huron, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Hunt officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the Welter Funeral Home. The casket will not be open at the church Thursday afternoon. Iva Irene Wahl was born on October 21, 1917, to Jacob and Anna (Bauer) Wahl at Parchell, ND. On July 11, 1938, Iva married Lester Dammann at Mankato, MN. She was employed with J.J. Newberry for 16 years as well as West Park, the VFW and Colonial Bakery. In 1973, Iva married C. W. Franklin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Huron. Her hobbies were gardening, yard work and baking. She is survived by four sons, Gerald (Shelly) Dammann of Rapid City, SD, Donald (Sandy) Dammann of Wamic, OR, Dennis (Bonnie) Dammann of Twisp, WA, and Thomas (Paula) Dammann of Marysville, WA; one daughter, Nyla (Leo) Kleinsasser of Huron; 15 grandchildren, Kirk Dammann, David Dammann, Dawn Dammann, Jennifer Rivers, Savanna Dammann, Devan Dammann, Brian Dammann, Shane Dammann, Angie Wilson, Shannon Kleinsasser, Jill Swenson, Jason Kleinsasser, Cari Greer, Trisha Dammann, and Tom Dammann; 29 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Vernon (Laurel) Wahl of Parker, CO, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester Dammann on June 4, 1967, three brothers, Forrest, Kenneth and Elmer and two sisters, Caroline and Delores. Casket bearers will be Kirk Dammann, Jason Kleinsasser, Todd Swenson, David Hernandez III, Natasha Hernandez and Mark Wahl.
