Irene Schade, age 86, of 1345 Michigan Ave SW, Huron, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM this Friday, April 15th, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Friends may call this Friday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 9:00 PM this Friday evening. Burial of her cremated remains will be at the West Sinai Lutheran Cemetery at Sinai, SD at a later date. Irene Schade was born Irene M. Olson on September 2, 1918, to Nicolai and Anna (Lund) Olson at Sinai, SD. She attended and graduated from Sinai High School. On October 16, 1936, Irene married Fay Schade at Sinai and they farmed north of Sinai until 1949 when they moved to Huron. Irene worked at the Huron Clinic as a Medical Transcriptionist and at the Huron Regional Medical Center in the Medical Records department until her retirement. She is survived by two daughters, Jerrilyn (Bill) Siver of Rapid City and Sharon Peck of Sunset Nursing Home of Irene, SD; four grandchildren, Dawn (Marc) Birkeland of Huron, Jack Boetel of Sioux Falls, Angie Peck of Huron and Roger (Kelly) Peck of Minneapolis, MN; five great grandchildren, Alec and Aric Birkeland, Cody and Jake Boetel and Michael Peck; one son-in-law, Lyle Boetel of Cavour; three sisters, Myrtle Cuneo of Huron, Harriet Skattum of Hills, MN and Jean (Emery) Larson of Shelby Township, MI; one brother, Walter (Chris) Olson of Sinai; one brother-in-law, Ken (Margaret) Schade of Rapid City; two sisters-in-law, Florence Schade of Brookings and Gladys Schade of Sioux Falls; and very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955, her son Lauren Nicolai Schade in 1944, her son-in-law, Dawson Peck, her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
