Ina Virginia Dowd, age 71, of Huron, SD, died on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron, SD, with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron. Her Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday night, and a Rosary to begin at 7:30 p.m.; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Ina Virginia Becker, the daughter of Alvin William and Ester (Grandpre) Becker, was born on January 12, 1940 in Conde, SD. She attended school at the Turton Public School, and at Huron, SD. Ina married Ronald Phillips on August 15, 1956 in Willow Lake, SD. Ronald passed away on June 4, 1997. Ina married Patrick Dowd on June 26, 2004 in Huron, SD. Ina worked as a nurse's aide and as a home health care aide for South Dakota Home Health and the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Ina was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Huron. Ina enjoyed bowling, reading, watching television, and going to concerts and plays. Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband Patrick, Of Huron, SD; her children, Alvin (Lynn) Phillips, of Gettysburg, SD, Marjorie (Dan) Peterson, of Wolsey, SD, and Shane (Rachelle) Phillips, of Lamberton, MN; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Joseta (Albert) Lucklum, of Huron, SD; step-sister, Donna (Dean) Mc Gillvrey, of Huron, SD; and many nieces and nephews. Ina was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ronnie in 1997; and step-mother Emma Feasler; and brother-in-law, Wendell Shoultz.
