Ida Bertha Mager, age 81 of Huron, SD, died on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at her home in Huron. Her funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the American Lutheran Church in Huron, SD, with burial at the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 9:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the Church on Tuesday. Ida Bertha Quackenbush, the daughter of Ernest and Gladys (Reynolds) Quackenbush was born on May 3, 1930 in Bertha, MN. She attended school and graduated from Humboldt High School, St. Paul, MN. Ida lived on the family farm in Minnesota until 1951 when she moved to Huron, SD. Ida worked for the Johnson and Johnson Company, Minnesota and the Swift Packing Company in Huron for 4 years, before finishing her career with the Huron Regional Medical Center Food Service Department. Ida married Jerry Johannes in October of 2011 in Huron, SD. Ida attended the American Lutheran Church in Huron, SD and the American Lutheran Women's League. She also attended the Open Bible Church in Huron, SD. Ida enjoyed playing guitar, knitting, sewing, cooking, fishing, and hunting. She was also a great lover of animals. Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Jerry Johannes, of Huron, SD; 3 sons; Russell (Mara) Mager, of Huron, SD, Frank Mager, of Chicago, IL, and Ronald (Kim Hoffman) Mager of Huron, SD; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ernestine Esparza, of St. Paul, MN and Darlene Paulson, of Rushford, MN; 2 brothers, Eugene Quackenbush, of Hamilton, IL and Albert Quackenbush, of Spring Valley, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
