Obituary

Hugo Engelhart, age 89, of 50 7th St. SE, Huron, died Monday, November 22, 2004, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 27th at the Welter Funeral Home with Father Donald Imming officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening or Saturday morning until the time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Hugo Charles Engelhart was born on March 22, 1915, to Charles and Bertha (Palmer) Engelhart at Hecla, SD. He attended school in the Hecla area. He served in the United States Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge he returned to the Lake Norden and Willow Lake area and then to Huron where he has lived for 54 years. Hugo married Mary Gearin at Webster. He was employed with the State Highway Department, Bartholow Construction and was a cement finisher for Art Bergquist. He was a life-time member of the V.F.W. and loved to hunt. He is survived by his children, Charles (Norma) of Huron, Ronald (Nancey) of Federal Way, WA, Duane (Marylyn) of Devine, TX, Jan (David) Miner of Fairview, OR, Donna (James) Anderson of Huron, and Lois (Harry) Bult of Luverne, MN; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Raymond, one daughter, Elizabeth, his parents, three brothers and one sister. Casket bearers will be James Anderson Jr., Charles Engelhart, Duane Engelhart, David Miner, Harry Bult, and Larry Rasmussen.
