Howard Oestreich, Sr., age 67, of Sioux Falls, SD, and formerly of Huron, SD, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at his home in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 12, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with Rev. Jonathan Boehne officiating. Burial will be at the Broadland Cemetery at Broadland, SD. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 pm this Thursday at the Welter Funeral Home and Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Howard Lloyd Oestreich was born on February 17, 1940, to Rudolph and Ruth (Haugen) Oestreich in Virgil, SD. He attended elementary school in Broadland and high school in Huron. Howard was united in marriage to Sharon Voss. He worked at various jobs around Huron prior to moving to Sioux Falls where he worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. He later moved to Baraboo, WI, where he worked for a printing company for 15 years. After his retirement Howard and Sharon enjoyed traveling around the country. His other interests include watching western movies, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. His most memorable times were the opportunities to walk his 2 granddaughters ?down the aisle? at their weddings. He was confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron; and was a member of the Moose Lodge for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Sioux Falls; 3 children, Howard (Julie) Oestreich, Jr. of Huron, Sandra (Dennis) Beckman of Dell Rapids, SD, and Todd (Stacie) Oestreich of Huron; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
