Henrietta (Wickham) Peters, age 97, of 1345 Michigan Ave. SW, Huron, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her memorial service will be at 10:30 Monday, May 19, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Anderson officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Henrietta Magdalena Warner was born September 21, 1910, at Durant, Iowa, to Charles and Ella (Becker) Warner. She graduated from high school in Randalia, Iowa. She married Paul Wickham on December 25, 1928, and they lived in Hawkeye, Iowa, and Claremont, Iowa. In 1941, she married David Morris, and they lived in Rapid City and Huron, where Mr. Morris was in the hotel business and Henrietta worked as a hostess and waitress at the Marvin Hughitt Hotel. He died in 1947. Henrietta married Tice Peters in 1968, and they owned a package liquor store in Huron until they moved to California in 1972 where they managed an apartment complex in Fremont, California, for several years before retiring in Santa Paula, California. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Charles (Joyce) Wickham, of Huron and Harlan (Barbara) Wickham, of Aberdeen; two daughters, Laura (Paul) Flanagan, of Huron and Norma (Dr. William) Ekman, of Ventura, California; 13 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; and one brother.
