Helen L. Kraft, age 86, of 910 15th St. SW, and formerly of 307 6th St. NE, Huron, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 29th at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Lafreniere officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Saturday morning. Helen Kraft was born Helen Luella Podhradsky on November 11, 1921, to Michael and Mary (Kutil) Podhradsky at Woonsocket, SD. She attended rural schools. She worked at Fairbanks and Morris in Wisconsin, and the Chef Caf in Huron in her early years. On January 20, 1945, Helen married Lewis Jim Kraft at Rockwell City, IA. She is survived by one son, Harvey of Huron; one daughter, Mary (David) Dorris of Huron; five grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Podhradsky of Woonsocket; one sister-in-law, Lois Podhradsky of Woonsocket,and many very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Linda Kay, one son, Norman, one great granddaughter, Autumn, her parents, three sisters, Lillian, Mary, and Kate, six brothers, Charlie, Mike, Tony, Bill, Steve and George, three half sisters and five half brothers.
