Hazel Martha Haeder, age 90, of De Smet, formerly of Huron, SD, died on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in De Smet. Her Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Huron. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Hazel was born the oldest child on October 23, 1921, to Louise and Carl Jungemann of Wolsey. Raised during the Depression, Hazel attended School at the Lutheran Day School in Wolsey, SD. She then worked various jobs helping her parents buy back the family farm. She married Harry Haeder on September 28th 1947. They farmed northeast of Yale for 50 years. They moved to Huron in 2000, living there for ten years. She was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in De Smet for the last two years. Hazel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, LWMS, Foster Township Homemakers, and after moving to Huron a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. We remember Hazel for her vegetable and flower gardens, raising chickens, selling eggs, sewing, baking, and how she loved to visit. We will miss her laughter and telling it like it is. We are thankful that the Lord took her home to join Harry and Dennis. Grateful for having shared in Hazel's life are her two daughters, Dianne (George) Mollner of De Smet, and Donna (Carl) Rose of Billings, MT; daughter-in-law, Debra Haeder of Germantown MD; one sister, Geraldine (Vern) Kahre, of Huron, SD; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Jungemann. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son Dennis; and two brothers, Harley, and Gerhardt Jungemann. Memorials in Hazel's name may be made to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Pew Restoration Fund, or to the Good Samaritan Center of De Smet, SD.
