Obituary

Hattie Klicker, age 96, of Wolsey, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, May 25th at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Wolsey with Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery at Wolsey. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Friday morning. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home with a Devotional Service at 8:00 PM. Hattie Klicker was born Hattie Sophia Sibbers on July 16, 1910, to Peter and Clara Margaret (Kreutzfeldt) Sibbers at Bloomfield, NE. Her early childhood years were at Bloomfield, NE before moving to Beadle County on a farm west of Wolsey with her parents at a young age. She attended country grade school and Wolsey High School. On February 3, 1933, Hattie married Ed Klicker at Wolsey. They spent their entire married life on a farm southwest of Wolsey. In 1964, they moved into Wolsey where she worked at the Wolsey Caf for many years and gained a reputation for her expert cooking and baking. In April 2007, Hattie moved to Country View Estates at Huron. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, LWML, Wolsey Senior Center, and Social Sisters Club. She was always busy with cooking, gardening, quilting, embroidering and reading. Her constant love of church and her family was foremost in her life. She is survived by 3 daughters, Margaret (Jay) Ruckdaschel, Elaine (Ivan) Loesch and Marlys (Bob) Barker all of Huron; 6 grandchildren, Karla Hauk, Kaye (Todd) Eckstaine, Kim Ruckdaschel (Kevin) Haley, Curtis Loesch, Lynell (Tom) Nelson and Collin Loesch; 9 great grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Hauk, Joshua Hauk, Jesse Hauk, Erik Nelson, Kayla Nelson, Kirsten Eckstaine, Jacob Eckstaine, Zachary Haley, and Sophia Haley; 2 great great grandchildren, Maggie and Molly Hauk; 3 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Sibbers of Huron, Mae Sibbers of Austin, MN and Vera Peak, Hollandale, MN; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed on November 2, 1992, 1 granddaughter, Lonna Ruckdaschel, her parents, and 5 brothers, Ernest (Etta), Alfred (Verna), Warren, Herbert and Arnold. Casket bearers will be Norman Sibbers, Charles Johnson, Duane Struck, Chris Klicker, Delbert Klicker and Lee Heller.
