On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, a beautiful, generous heart stopped beating. Harvey "Harv" Gleich, age 60, of Woonsocket, SD, died peacefully surrounded by his family at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. His memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron with inurnment of his creamated remains at Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Memorial visitation with family present will be Thursday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Harv was born on January 21, 1954 at Huron, SD to Rudy and Betty (Kuk) Gleich. He grew up in Huron and attended the Huron Public Schools graduating from Huron High School in 1972. He was baptized into the Presbyterian Church as a child. On December 4, 1979 he married Peggy Kokesh in Huron. After high school, he worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as a trackman and heavy machine operator, quitting in 1990 to help his mother with the family business. In 1997 he created and ran the Fantasy Revenge Paintball Park passionately until ill health forced him to quit in 2006. His most recent employment was with Brown & Saenger. He was an avid pool player most of his life, belonging to various pool leagues throughout his life. He taught his daughters and grandsons to play, with the latter being his 4yr old grandson. He enjoyed listening to music, working on his yard and house, but most of all he loved his family. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Peggy of Woonsocket; his 2 daughters, Carissa (Josh) Koops of Huron and Haley Gleich of Sioux Falls; 2 grandsons, Colton Pell and Noah Koops, both of Huron; 2 brothers, Keith Gleich of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, and Craige (Paula) Gleich of Corby Northants, UK; sister Maryln (Tom) Nelson of Hansville, WA; sister-in-law, June Kokesh; brother-in-law, Bob (Diane) Kokesh of Woonsocket; and many precious nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Mavis; brother, Dale; and 2 brothers-in-law, Gene Kokesh and John Kokesh.
