Harold Larsen, age 93, of Huron, SD, formerly of Wolsey, SD, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 24, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, from 2-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 p.m.; or Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Harold Carl Larsen, son of Carl and Louise (Kohlmeyer) Larsen, was born on the family farm on January 18, 1919, at Wolsey, SD.He was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John's Lutheran Church of Wolsey. He graduated from Wolsey High School in 1937. Following graduation he farmed with his family north west of Wolsey. On September 30, 1951, Harold married Mildred Jungemann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey. They lived and worked together for 49 years on the family farm near Wolsey. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Harold enjoyed family, grandchildren, farming and all things mechanical. He is survived by 2 sons, Bill (Carol) Larsen of Wolsey, and Vernon Larsen of Wolsey; 2 daughters, Barbara (Neil) Otto of Riverton, WY, and Marjorie (Ed) Krzesinski of Edwardsville, KS; 8 grandchildren, Chris Otto, Jon (Jamie) Otto, Bridget Otto, Bethany Krzesinski, Michaela Krzesinski, Megan Larsen, Matthew Larsen, and Madelyn Larsen; and 1 brother Fred (Shirley) Larsen of Marion, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred on September 19, 2001; and 3 brothers Edward, Marvin, and LaVern.
