Harold Harrington, age 97, of Miller and formerly of Wessington, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center at Miller, SD. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 11th at the First Presbyterian Church at Wessington with Rev. Allen Sager officiating. Burial will be at the Wessington Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Tuesday afternoon. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM Monday evening at the Welter Funeral Home. Harold Arthur Harrington was born on November 13, 1906, to Thomas J. and Louisa (Marke) Harrington at Farmer, SD. On December 25, 1932, Harold married Alice V. Walton at Hitchcock. They made their home in Bonilla until 1936 when they moved to St. Paul, MN. They returned to South Dakota in 1939. Harold worked for Bartholow Construction building roads and moving around the state. They moved to Wessington in 1940. He retired in 1977 and continued to live in Wessington until 2000 when he moved to Miller. He is survived by one son, Richard (Jeannie) Harrington of Redfield; four daughters, Evelyn Butts of Fedora, Betty (Lyle) Orr of Aberdeen, Joan (Russ) Davis of Miller and Dorothy (Keith) Willard of Dupree, SD; eleven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Harrington of Oregon; one sister Eunice Quiram of Huron and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice, on November 2, 1992, his parents, two grandsons, Steven Davis and Monty Raether, one great grandson, Ryan Willard, one son-in-law, Herb Butts, three brothers, and four sisters.
