Harold "Sonny" Beltz, age 69, of 1360 Center St W., Huron, died Saturday May 24, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital at Sioux Falls, SD.
His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial at St. Martin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home or one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday afternoon.
Harold 'Sonny' Beltz was born on March 14, 1939, to Harold C. and Lucy (Lewandowski) Beltz at Sisseton, South Dakota. He moved to Huron as a child with his family and attended St. Teresa grade school and graduated from Huron High School.
On July 19, 1958, Harold married Judy Burt at St. Martin's Church at Huron. He has lived in Huron all his life and was a business owner of Good Housecleaning Service for 50 years.
He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Studebaker Club of America. His hobbies were shooting guns, archery, motorcycles, carpentry work, restoring old cars and collecting things.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of Huron; one son, Aaron Beltz of Broomfield Colorado; one daughter, Vicki (John) Pawlowski of Huron; five grandchildren, Lee Rycraft, Tim Beltz, Ashley Beltz, Ty Beltz and AliJo Pawlowski; three great grandchildren, Jonathan Beltz, Alaina Pawlowski and Ava Rycraft.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
