Guy Gilbert, Jr. age 61, of Lake Preston, SD, and formerly of the Huron area, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, at the Kingsbury Memorial Manor Nursing Home at Lake Preston. His funeral service will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 19, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at the Altoona Cemetery at Hitchcock. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Guy C. Gilbert was born on October 17, 1945, to Guy and Evelyn (Hamilton) Gilbert, Sr., at Redfield, SD. He grew up east of Doland on the family farm. Following completion of his formal education Guy worked for several years on farms in the Huron area. For the last 8 years, Junior has been living at the Kingsbury Memorial Manor Nursing Home at Lake Preston. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Bacon of Huron; 1 brother, Greg Gilbert of Huron; 2 sisters, Mary Gilbert of Huron, and Minnie (Eric) Lofboom of Princeton, MN. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Gilbert, Sr.; a brother, Gene Gilbert; a sister, Gloria Gilbert; and a niece, Amy McKenzie.
