Grace M. Zimmerman, age 93, of Huron, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be 10:30 am on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Grace, the daughter of Walter and Ruby Hay was born on June 21, 1927 at Devil's Lake, North Dakota. She attended school at McKinley in Huron. Grace met her future husband Oliver Zimmerman while roller-skating, and was impressed of the back flips that he would do for her that won her heart.

Grace married Oliver Zimmerman on October 19, 1949 at the United Methodist Church in Huron, South Dakota. The couple made their home on the family farm near Forestburg, South Dakota. Grace was a homemaker, her brothers looked forward to her meals, especially her chocolate cake when they come out to hunt on the family farm. She was a 4-H leader and judge for the State Fair and other counties in the area for over 50 years. She was also a member of Women's Extension and took many trips together with the group. Grace was very passionate for her family, especially her 3 grandkids, Brent, Brennan and Kelcie and more recently her great-granddaughter, Kenna.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her daughter, Connie (Todd) Paye of Cavour; three grandchildren, Brent (Sheena), Brennan, and Kelcie Paye; great-granddaughter, Kenna; brother, Kenny (Faye) Hay of Parker; sisters-in-law, Bev Oller of Illinois, Marcie Hayberling of Michigan, Virginia Baysinger of Huron, Kathleen Zimmerman of Mitchell, and Violet (Barry) Bell of Woonsocket; brothers-in-law, Ron Wulf of Sioux Falls and Richard "Ski" Scafranski of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Oliver in 2014; daughter Sandra Zimmerman; son Douglas Zimmerman; grandson Dylan Paye; two brother's-in-law, Harold Baysinger and Arnold Zimmerman, and her beloved six brothers and sisters, Walter "Wally" Hay, Margie Szafranski, Jerry Hay, Glen "Tony" Hay, Nancy Robnett, and Janet Wulf.
