Obituary

Gordon Bogh, age 76, of 1576 2nd St SW, Huron, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 12th at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Boehne officiating. Burial will be at Ideal Cemetery with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening or Monday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Monday afternoon. The family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Gordon Allen Bogh was born on March 4, 1931, to Willis and Dessamor (Schnackenberg) Bogh at Yale, SD. He grew up and attended school at Yale and graduated in 1949. He was employed with Armour and Company in 1950. On January 6, 1951, Gordon entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on November 24, 1954. He returned to Huron where he has lived since that time and was employed at Armour and Company until 1983. He was employed at Northwest Pipe Fittings for a time and at Bradfield Leary until 1993 when he retired. On December 3, 1960, Gordon married Janet Gross at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, past commander of the Forrest McMullen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1776, and a member of the William Reaves American Legion Post #7. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, camping, watching TV, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Janet of Huron; 4 children, Twila (Rick) Hartford of Hickory, NC, Michael (Marlo) Bogh, Brenda (Rick) Nelson, and Robin (Allen) Shoultz, all of Huron; 7 grandchildren, Chad Bogh, Michael Lee Bogh, Stacy Hartford, Kelly Hartford, Kelsey Shoultz, Josh Nelson, and Cody Shoultz; 6 step grandchildren, Dean Taylor, Mark Taylor, Alex Taylor, Sean Taylor, Darek Nelson, and Chasity Towns; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Russell (Ramona) Bogh of Denver, CO, and Kenneth (Wanda) Bogh of Huron; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister, Rilla Bogh.
