Gladys O. Moulton, age 94, of Huron, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at her home. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 5-7 pm; or Wednesday morning one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Gladys Opal Moulton was born near Huron, SD, on December 24, 1916 to Henry and Ella (Fenstermacher) Peters. She attended Huron schools and graduated from Huron High School in 1935. She attended Northwest College of commerce in Huron and Junior College in San Bernardino, CA. Gladys worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Huron. She married Paul "Doc" Moulton on March 6, 1942 in Huron. They live in Florida while Paul was in the U.S. Coast Guard. They moved to San Bernardino, CA, in 1946, where the worked at Norton Air Force Base for many years. Gladys and Paul enjoyed traveling for several years after retiring. They returned to Huron in 1981. Gladys was a life member of NARFE and was also a member of the Huron Senior Center and AARP. Gladys is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Velma Eining and Bill Eining of Huron. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul in 1989; one brother, Ralph Peters; five sisters, Clara Shepard, Verna Rogers, Lauretta Quick, Edith Brandenburg-Johnson, Gertrude Peters; 3 nieces and 4 nephews.
