Ginger Davis, age 49 of Huron, SD, died on Monday, April 25, 2011 at her home in Huron. Her Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 28, 2011 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. Visitation with the family will be held from 9 a.m until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Virginia (Ginger) the daughter of Norman and Norma (Eggers) Nelson was born on May 31, 1961 in Huron, SD. She attended school in Willow Lake and Huron. Ginger moved to Redfield in 1979 and worked for the state hospital for two years. In 1981, she moved to Cavour, SD where she operated and owned the Triangle Bar for 13 years. Ginger married Dennis Davis on December 30, 1995 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Yale, SD. The couple then moved by Huron. Ginger worked for Raven Industries and Beadle County. Started her own weed control business. Her illness forced her to retire in 2002. Ginger continued to have a hobby farm, raising calves, bottle lambs, pigs, goats, rabbits, and horses. Ginger was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Huron, where she taught 6th Grade Confirmation Classes for several years. Ginger loved to support her daughter in 4-H, basketball, and softball, never missing a single event. Loved to go hunting with her longtime, out-of-state hunting friends. Her companion, the family dog, Sadie, whose job was to keep the recliner warm for her, and will miss her greatly. Grateful for having shared Ginger's life are her husband, Dennis and daughter Cydnee, of Huron, SD; her mother, Norma (Eggers) Nelson, of Carpenter, SD; grandkids, Zander and June Wolf, and Waylon Davis; Dustin, her nephew, who was like a son to her. Siblings: Nick (Lynn) Nelson, of Iroquois, SD, Eric (Connie) Nelson, of Yale, SD, Harriet (Allen) Kretzschmar, of Raymond, SD, Nancy (Richard) Vig, and Ferg (Kim) Nelson, both of Carpenter, SD, Sylvia (Garry) Holmstrom, of Clark, SD, and Warren (Cindy) Nelson, of Victorville, CA; a multitude of nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews; and a large circle of friends, who loved and cherished her."Snaps" will be watching over you. Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Norman Nelson; siblings, Kenneth "K.O.", Jeanette, and Mark Nelson; an infant brother; grandparents, Walter and Grace Eggers, and Ole and Hattie Nelson; mother and father in law, John and Gladys Davis; and brother in law, Sid Davis; and nephew, Buddy Vig.
