Geraldine E. "Geri" Kahre, age 80, of Huron, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Sun Quest Healthcare Center in Huron.

Her committal service will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Wolsey followed be a memorial service will be 11 am at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, August 21 at Welter Funeral Home.

Geri was born on April 16, 1938 in Wolsey, SD to Carl and Louise (Schnabel) Jungemann. She grew up on a farm in Wolsey and attended school in Wolsey. She graduated from Wolsey High School in 1956.

Geri was united in marriage to Vern Kahre on July 27, 1958 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wolsey. Geri was a longtime employee of Raven Industries and a homemaker.

She enjoyed their 1941 John Deere Model "B" tractor, raising flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron.

She is survived by her husband Vern Kahre of Huron; one son, Kurt (Gwen) Kahre of Watertown, SD; two daughters, Karla (Mick) Mitzel of Rapid City, SD and Tammi (Joel) Wilczek of Little Falls, MN; nine grandchildren, Jackson Kahre, Alex Kahre, Maggi Wilczek, Ted (Maria) Wilczek, Charlie (Daniela) Wilczek, Frank Wilczek, Leo Wilczek, Keenan (Nicole) Roberts, and Kasha Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Tandym Wilczek, Blaize Wilczek, Silas Wilczek, and Raiden Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gerhardt and Harley Jungemann, and one sister, Hazel Haeder.
