Gerald (Jerry) F. Jensen, age 67, of 514 Illinois Ave. NW, Huron, died on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at his home in Huron.
His Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Salvation Army.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 31, at the Welter Funeral Home, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 pm Monday night; or Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the Salvation Army.
Gerald F. Jensen, the son of Ralph H. and Mildred M. (Munion) Jensen, was born on November 11, 1942, in Huron, SD. He attended schools and graduated from Huron High School. Jerry married Gloria Wait on November 19, 2005, in Huron, SD. Jerry worked maintenance for Overbuilt Incorporated, Haarstad Sanitation, Kasperson Southside Garage, Olson Implement, Schoenhard Ford and Dodge, and Wal-Mart.
Jerry was a member of the Salvation Army for many years. He enjoyed playing pool, going dancing, and watching sports and westerns on television. Jerry was also a race fan and enjoyed attending the races at the Huron Speedway with his brother, Kenny.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Gloria of Huron; his son, Ricky (Barb) Jensen of South Dakota; 2 step-sons, Don (Shelly) Knigge of Mitchell, SD, and Aaron (Jessica) Knigge of Harrisburg, SD; step-daughter, Karen (Timm) Hiles of Huron; 11 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchilden; 3 brothers, Richard L. Jensen of Roseburg, OR, Kenney E. Jensen, and Ronald M.(Bonnie) Jensen, both of Huron, SD; his sister, Alice Waldner of Huron, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Mike Waldner.
