Georgia K. Flanagan, age 84 of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Huron, SD and Tracy, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Sanford (USD) Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at St. Martin Cemetery.

Her Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.

Georgia Katharina Rice was born on August 28, 1931 near Huron, SD. She met her late husband, William F. Flanagan Sr. in Huron, SD.   They were married on April 13, 1949 and shared a great love and bond with each other. Georgia and William had three children while living in Tracy, MN.

Georgia was an avid reader and loved old western movies. She enjoyed her time spent traveling the country with her husband and had a love of nature. Georgia enjoyed volunteering at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and did so until 2013. Georgia also worked at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota until 2013.

Grateful for having shared in Georgia's life are her three children Elizabeth Stowell of Sioux Falls, SD; William (Jane) Flanagan Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD; Anna (Mike) Nessler of Pinnock, MN; her seven grandchildren Jason Stowell, Shane (Michelle) Stowell, Matthew (Angela) Caffee, CJ Jensen, Justin Flanagan, Kyle Flanagan, and Jennifer Flanagan; eight great grandchildren Brittany, Courtney, Devon, Anthony, Alex, Kaela, Nolan, and Faith.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William in 1999; grandson, John Arthur Jensen; and her brothers and sisters.
