George Rick, age 65, of 1895 Meadowlark Lane, Huron, died Friday, March 17, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 21, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Joe Holzhauser officiating. His body has been cremated and there will be no visitation. George Charles Rick was born on October 23, 1940, to Russell C. and Hazel I. (Heath) Rick at Clark, South Dakota. George grew up on a farm and was educated in area rural schools, and also at Bradley, South Dakota. During the 1970s he worked for Lee Mills in Montevideo, Minnesota, as a farmhand. In 1978 he attended ATCO in Watertown for 1 year. On September 1, 1979, George married Bonnie and lived in Watertown following their marriage. They were divorced in 1991. From 1979 to 1983 George was employed as a janitor for the Watertown School District. He moved to Huron in 1985 and has lived and worked for the Huron Area Center for Independence as an assembler for various manufacturing products. George enjoyed the times that he was able to work on the farm, being with his friends, watching western movies, listening to country music, and enjoying a can of Pepsi soda. He is survived by a brother, Maurice (Ardys) Rick of Bradley, South Dakota; 1 sister, Tami (Lyle) Quigley of Glenwood, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Hazel Rick; 4 brothers, Glen Rick in infancy, Keath Rick, Floyd Rick, and Gerald Rick; 1 sister, VaDonna Forbragd; 2 sisters-in-law, Alta Rick, and Fern Rick; and 1 brother-in-law, Earl Forbragd.
