George E. Marone, age 70, of Huron, SD, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. A private family service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at St. Martin Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. George E. Marone, the son of Richard "Dutch" and Clara (VanMoorlehem) Marone, was born on January 7, 1943, at Clifton Township in rural Beadle County, SD. George lived on the family farm before moving to Redfield, SD. In 1992 George moved to Huron and resided at 1030 15th St. SW until his passing. George loved watching people, eating out, going to movies, listening to music, and watching television. Grateful for having shared in George's life are his brother, Ronald (Lorraine) Marone of Cavour, SD; three sisters, Betty Olson of Huron, SD, Jackie (Ray) Kuhl of Michigan, and Marilyn Tounsley of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Clara;brother, Russell Marone; infant niece, Connie Olson; and two brothers-in-law, Don Olson and Jack Tounsley.
