Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Genevieve Doland was born Genevieve Agnes Moe, daughter of Jacob and Marie (Nelson) Moe, on May 4, 1916, in rural Carthage, SD. She attended Kingsbury County rural schools and graduated from De Smet High School. Following graduation, she worked for the Kingsbury County Farm and later the Kingsbury County Treasurers Office.
In 1936, Genevieve married Walter Still and they made their home in De Smet. They owned and operated Walts Food Market for 15 years until his death in 1962.
She met and married Frank Doland in 1964 and lived in Huron where they built a new home. They loved to travel and both had a passion for hobbies and crafting. It became a hobby show business that they enjoyed for 17 years that they called Wood n Things. Gen finished the wood items that Frank had made on the lathe, and she also made different types of stitchery and embroidery. Her many other crafts included her unique soft-sculpture nylon hosiery dolls and apple-head dolls complete with bodies and clothing.
After Frank died in 1987, she moved into a duplex rental where she made her home until she was 93 years old. In September of 2008, she became a resident of StoneyBrook Suites in Huron.
She was faithful member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in worship and bible study and was a very active member. For 30 years, Gen helped to make and tie hundreds of crazy-quilt tops for Lutheran World Relief from fabrics and old clothing. New yardage was not used then.
Gen was always ready to lend a helping hand. She loved visiting shut-ins and spreading her cheer. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her deep sense of family and her love and concern for all.
Gen came from a large immigrant family of 16 children, six of whom were born in Norway. She was the fifth child in the family to be born in America.
Mourning her passing are 2 sisters, Mabelle Fulton of Sioux Falls, and Gladys Tracy of Ventura, CA; 2 sisters-in-law, Faye Moe of St. Paul, MN, and Ila Moe of Vermillion, SD; and a host of loved nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends all of whom are grateful for the gift of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husbands, and 13 siblings.
