Geneva Spelbring, age 84, of Huron died on Friday, January 16, 2015 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her memorial service will be 4:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home with burial prior to the service in the Fedora Cemetery. Memorial visitation with family present will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Geneva Leanna Spelbring was born on April 17, 1930 in Wessington, SD to Ora and Sylvia (Neeman) Parker. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist church in Wessington. She attended school in Wessington and later University of South Dakota at Springfield. Geneva married Ernest Mager in 1947 in Minnesota. To this marriage eight children were born. After Ernest passed away in 1973, she married James Spelbring in Howard, South Dakota on February 2, 1976. James passed away in 1981. Geneva enjoyed reading and doing crafts, especially making pot holders, quilts, afghans, and doing bead work. Geneva was a member of the ODO Club in Artesian, the Artesian American Legion Post #47 Auxiliary, the Grandmothers Club in Fedora, and the Methodist Ladies. Geneva is survived by her six children, Richard Mager of Henderson, Nevada, Barbara Ideker of Spring, Texas, Micheal (Ruth) Mager of Lincoln, NE, Linda (Arlyn) Richardson of Melbourne, Florida, David (Pennie) Mager of Melbourne, Florida, Tracy (Douglas) Godfrey of Woonsocket, South Dakota; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Vern Neuharth of Wolsey; several nieces and nephews. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; two infant sons, William and Kerry; son-in-laws, Danny Ideker and Buddy Burns; brothers, Lloyd Parker and Burt Parker; sisters, Ethel Kasper, Louella Barrows, Lillian Bartel, Evelyn Schwartz, and Ardeth Neuharth.
