Gaylord L. "Gus" Lundberg, age 87, of Huron, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. His memorial mass will be 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. Private inurnment with military honors by the Huron Veteran's Council was previously held at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.

Gaylord "Gus" Lennis Lundberg was born to August L. and Agnes (Hurlbut) Lundberg on April 20, 1930 in Redfield, SD. He was educated in Trimont, MN Castro Valley, CA, and Huron, SD. He joined the Army National Guard in 1948 and was called to active duty in 1950 where served at Camp Carson, CO until his discharge in 1951. He married Rita M. Starzl Pedersen on June 1, 1956 at St. Martins Catholic Church in Huron, SD. He was employed at St. Johns Hospital and the Marvin Hughitt Hotel as an audit clerk for 15 years and then employed at Hickory House Motor Inn for several years in the same capacity. He retired in 1986 due to a visual disability. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early adult years.

Gus was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and American Legion where he had 50+ plus years of membership.

Gus is survived by: two daughters, Gayleen (Kevin) Parsons of Huron and Kathy (Steven) Wagenaar of Aberdeen, SD; one son, Michael (April) Lundberg of  Watertown, SD; grandchildren, Cole (Becky) Wagenaar, Oroville, CA, Case (Tess) Wagenaar, Grand Forks, ND, Megan (Chad) Flemming, Watertown, Seth (Danielle) Lundberg, Dilworth, MN, Sherry (John) Jackson, Sioux Falls, Darrel Parsons of Aberdeen, SD; many great-grandchildren; and two sister's-in-law, Carol Starzl of Centerville, SD and Lozetta (Tom) Doll of Lyle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rita on June 15, 2017.
