Gary B. Renner, age 67, of Huron, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at Huron Regional Medical Center. His memorial service will be at 3pm on Saturday at Welter Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Friday at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday. Gary was born on July 18, 1947 in Waverly, Iowa to Benjamin and Elsie (Rosenau) Renner. In 1950, the family moved to Huron where Gary was raised. He graduated from Huron Senior High School in 1965. Gary entered the Army National Guard in 1967 and served for 10 years. He was united in marriage to Sandra Moore in Forestburg, SD in November of 1968. Gary worked for 3M in Aberdeen for 31 years. After retirement, he lived in Spearfish for a 1 year before returning to Huron. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, collecting, NASCAR, antique cars, reading, watching his favorite NFL team, the Washington Redskins, and was an avid collector of many things. He also enjoyed participating in the annual 3M Carp fishing tournament and attending annual 3M Christmas parties. He is survived by 1 daughter, Sally (Ryan Doyle) Hofhenke of Huron, 1 son, Tracy (Sarah Olson) Renner of Huron; 1 sister, Susan Stulken of Rapid City; 12 grandchildren, Isha, Nyah and Omali Vanterpool, Benjamin Renner, Jeremy Morgan, Jennifer and Brandon Martin, Dawn Doyle, Hunter, Ethan, Matthew, and Michael Olson; 4 great grandchildren, Daniel, Makayla, Gavin, and Kaiden. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother in law Fred Stulken, and several aunts and uncles.
