Gary Getscher, Age 72, of Wolsey died Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 of cancer at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron.

Private family burial will be held in the Spring at the Wolsey Cemetery.

Gary Lee Getscher was born November 28th, 1952 to Elmer and Pearl (Dracy) Getscher.  He attended the Wolsey schools and graduated in 1971.

He joined the National Guard for a short time before his dad died.  He got out on a hardship to help his mom run and manage the family farm.

Gary married Janice (Schilling) Getscher in 1972 in Huron.  In 2000 Gary and Janice divorced.   He met his significant other Gloria Luckett 23 years ago and she has lived with him ever since.

Gary was a farmer and raised sheep for awhile and cattle for years.  He was a pool and dart player for many years and bartended at several  bars. He hayed and hauled cattle for many people.  He loved going to the sale barns to watch and buy cattle.

Gary is survived by his significant other, Gloria Luckett of Wolsey, 2 daughters Stacy (Tom) Daschel of North Sioux City, SD; Cathy (Paul) Hanson of Gettysburg, SD;  2 grandchildren Kaitlyn Daschel and Jonathan Daschel; 2 siblings Dale (Carolyn) Getscher of Wolsey, Janice Getscher of Wolsey. Niece and nephew Jenny (Bill Timm) Getscher of Wolsey, Jeremy Getscher of Wolsey.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Pearl Getscher, His nephew Rod High, Grandparents, and many Aunts and Uncles.
