Gail Dinky Decker, age 52, of 57 Aberdeen Ave. NE, Huron, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Sattgast officiating. Burial will be at Richland Cemetery at Carpenter. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Thursday morning. The family will be present from 7:00-9:00 pm. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Gail Edwin Decker was born on May 18, 1953, to Edwin and Darlene (Hein) Decker at Huron. He grew up at Carpenter where he attended elementary school. He attended and graduated from Willow Lake High School. He then attended Vocational/Technical School at Watertown for a short period of time. During his high school years and after, he often helped his uncle Clarence Decker on his farm. After moving to Huron, he worked at Jones Company as a mechanic, Dakota Pork, Christ Construction, Swift & Company, Prairie Trend Factory, asphalt paving, Lazer's, and Wyoming Pipeline. He entered the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home on June 27, 2005. His many interests included mechanics, fishing, hunting, crossword puzzles, drawing and sketching, playing cards, watching wrestling, and NASCAR. He is survived by his father, Edwin Decker of Huron; 3 sisters, Vickey (James) Moeding of Huron, Darla Decker of Huron, and Lachele (Marty) Wenzel of Huron; 1 brother, Marty Decker (Lanette Jacob) of Huron; 4 nieces, Jody (Rudy) Ramon, Tara (Ed Wipf), Mellissa (Troy Geier), and Emily Wenzel; 2 nephews, Allen, and Jason; 4 aunts and 1 uncle, Arlene Kelly of Huron, Delphine Decker of Yale, Mabel Barrett of Mitchell, and Clara (Laverne) Decker of Huron; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; his mother, Darlene in 1971; and 2 brothers, Dennis in 1961, and Rick in 1982.
