Fritz Boesel, age 95, of Huron, formerly of Wolsey, died Monday, June 13, 2011, at StoneyBrook Suites in Huron. His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at First Presbyterian Church in Wolsey with burial at Wolsey Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 p.m.; or Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Fritz Otto Boesel, son of Herman and Bertha (Berlin) Boesel), was born on August 13, 1915, on a farm southwest of Wolsey, SD. He lived there until he was five years old, then moved with his family to a farm on Section 6, Wolsey. He attended country school for two years then public school in Wolsey. In 1934, he moved back to the original farm southwest of Wolsey and lived and farmed there until his retirement in 1979. He moved into Wolsey in 1990; SunQuest Village in the Fall of 2009; and StoneyBrook Suites in December 2010. When he lived in Wolsey he was a regular attendee for coffee at the Rolling Wheel. Although farming was his livelihood it was also his main interest in life. In addition he loved to putter and make things out of wood, garden, and watch westerns on television. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 12 siblings and their spouses, Frank (Mary) Boesel, Alma (Lee) Chester, Minnie (James) Doolittle, Mary (Hans) Bothner, Albert (Grace) Boesel, Henry (Rose) Boesel, Billy Boesel, Hannah Baum, Edith (Charlie) Lewis, Anna "Tootie" (LeRoy) Langbehn, Rose (Alfred) Ecker, and infant August Boesel.
