Obituary

Florence Schiavo Dave, age 93, of 50 7th St. SE, and formerly of 457 3rd St. SW, Huron, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 6, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Cathal Gallagher officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the mass at the church Monday morning. There will be a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Florence Dave was born on April 3, 1911, to Ignazio and Maria (Dimaggio) Schiavo at Kansas City, MO. She lived and attended school there until October 8, 1932, when she married Frank Dave and moved to Huron, where she lived the remainder of her life. The couple was widely known throughout the city and county as they served the people through their shoe repair shop. Florence was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Roses band, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and Royal Neighbors of America. She will be remembered as an exceptionally devoted wife and mother whose most important joy was her family, and she will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by 3 sons, Francis (Dorothy) Dave of Irvine, CA, Ignazio Chuck (Ann) Dave of Hollister, CA, and Vincent Dave of Las Vegas, NV; 1 brother, Steno Schiavo of Henderson, NV; 2 daughters-in-law; several grandsons and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank on January 16, 1986; and 3 sisters.
