Evelyn E. Williams, age 91, of Huron, SD died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Huron. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Evelyn E. Twogood, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie (Shaver) Twogood, was born on November 23, 1921 in Huron, SD. Evelyn attended school and graduated from Huron High School in 1940. Evelyn also attended the Northwestern College of Commerce and began to work for the Law Office of B.B. McCasky. Evelyn Married Donald Williams on May 1, 1944, in Huron, SD. The couple farmed in the Yale area for a time, before moving to Huron in 1945. Evelyn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huron where she taught Sunday school and served as a deacon. While her children were growing up, Evelyn served as a Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. Evelyn was a member of the Huron Senior Citizens Center, a past member of the Good Sam Camping Club, the Rovers Camping Club, and Hart Ranch. She enjoyed camping and snowmobiling. Grateful for having shared in her life are her daughter, Sandi (Paul) Peddinghaus of Rockville, Maryland; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 2007; son, Donald Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Mark Rhinehart; two brothers, LeRoy and Merlin Twogood; and foster brother Vincent Peterson.
