Evelyn Marie Gifford, 99, of Rapid City, SD, and formerly of Huron passed away peacefully on the evening of June 17, 2016 at Clarkson Health Care Center in Rapid City.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with inurnment at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Evelyn was born on November 2, 1916 to Frank and Clara Halbur in Virgil, SD.  Evelyn grew up Broadland S.D. and graduated from Broadland High School.

In her adult years she worked at Armour Packing Co., Pamida and was co-owner with her husband of a small grocery store and locker plant in Huron.

She was active in the Odd Fellows & Rebecca Lodge.   She was a devoted wife, mother and had many close friends with whom she shared many good times.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Jr. (Bea); 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, Frank & Clara Halbur; brothers, Frank (Ethel) and Lester (Alice); sister, Marie (Orrin); and son, Dennis (Daisy).
