Evelyn Farrell, age 86, of 1345 Michigan Ave SW and formerly of Cavour, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 29, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Joe Holzhauser officiating. Burial will be at St. Patricks Cemetery at Cavour. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM or prior to the mass at the church Wednesday morning. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Evelyn Farrell was born Mary Evelyn Landrigan on April 23, 1919, to Harry J. and Mary Agnes (Gill) Landrigan at Cavour, SD. She attended and graduated from Cavour High School. On September 2, 1940, Evelyn married Chester Farrell at Cavour and they lived at Cavour. In the 1960s Evelyn did domestic housekeeping for a number of families in Huron until the 1990s. Chester died March 27, 1988. She helped at the Senior Center at Cavour for a number of years and she was a member of Holy Trinity Church. She also enjoyed taking trips and cooking and baking. In March of 2003 she became a resident of the Huron Nursing Home. She is survived by one son, Paul (Janice) Farrell of Gulfport, MS; 2 grandchildren, Patrick (Malinda) Farrell of Ft. Campbell, KY, and Melanie (John) Gardner of Gulfport, MS; 4 great grandchildren, Shelby Farrell, Alisa Farrell, Ron Beaver, and Hilary Beaver; 1 sister, Bernice McNaboe of Huron; 2 brothers-in-law, Sylvan Bud Farrell of Fremont, CA, and Joe (Betty) Farrell of Kingfisher, OK; 3 sisters-in-law, Margaret Cain of San Antonio, TX, Henrietta Farrell of Denver, CO, and Vera Bell Farrell of Huron; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 2 brothers, John, and Joe, 2 sisters-in-law, Ada Landrigan, and Marie Farrell; and 4 brothers-in-law, Ed McNaboe, Martin Farrell, Francis Farrell, and Cecil Cain.
