Eunice Quiram, age 92, of Pierre, formerly of Huron, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Avera Maryhouse Care Center in Pierre. Her funeral will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation with family present will be one hour before the service starting at 1 pm. Eunice Lorraine Quiram was born on December 16, 1921 on a farm near Harrold, SD to Thomas and Louisa (Marke) Harrington. She attended her first six years of school in Harrold. After her father died in 1933, she and her mother moved to Bonilla where Eunice graduated from Bonilla High School in 1940. Eunice married Frank Quiram on July 7, 1940 in Broadland. They lived in Broadland for 3 years until they moved to Huron. Though Huron had been her home for many years, she moved to Pierre after a heart attack in 2009, to be closer to her daughter. Eunice worked several different jobs including at the Bonilla Caf, Raven Industries, and the lunchroom of the Huron Public schools. Her favorite job was as a babysitter in her home, were she had looked after over 100 children throughout the years. She was a member of the First Missionary Church for 35 years, then later the First Baptist Church in Huron, the Huron Senior Center, and a charter member of the NSCD club. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Donnis Deyo of Pierre; four grandchildren, Kari Deyo of Pierre, Trent (Stephanie) Deyo of Aberdeen, Michelle (Monte) Deyo-Amende of Belle Fourche, Jennifer Deyo of Pierre; six grandchildren, Meghan and Carter Deyo, Miles and Madeleine Amende, Miranda and Rebecca Deyo; one great great grandchild, Noah Deyo; several nieces and nephews. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank in 1980; five brothers, William, Fred, Harold, Ralph, Donald; four sisters, Bessie McNally, Velma Winegar, Ida Miner, and Ethel Sheldon.
