Eula C. Nevala, age 87, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Huron Regional Medical Center.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Frankfort, SD.

Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm on Friday followed by a scripture prayer service at 7 pm at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church on Saturday.

Eula Claire Robinson was born on a farm near Frankfort, SD on July 28, 1929 to Louis and Lillian (Norman) Robinson. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1947. After graduation, she moved to Superior, Wisconsin where she worked at CO-OP Publishing as a secretary.

Eula was united in marriage to George A. Nevala in Superior on June 19, 1948. They moved to Rock, Michigan later that year as George took a job as a clothing manager and Eula worked as a bookkeeper for the local Co-op Creamery. Their jobs also took them to Maple, Wisconsin and Tamarack, Minnesota before moving back to Frankfort in 1951 when they bought a town grocery store. They operated the grocery store until 1961 when they moved to Huron. Eula worked at a CPA office in Huron and then worked at the Huron Clinic for over 25 years.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery work. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and candy making. Eula was always willing to share her time and talents to help family and friends. She loved having a good time and the best times were always holidays and vacations with family. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends as she touched many people with her generosity.

She was a faithful and active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish where she was active in the choir, and baked many items for parish activities and functions.

Eula is survived by her son, David (Anje) Nevala of Little Rock, AR; one daughter, Janine (David) Welch of Pennock, MN; seven grandchildren, Eric, Jason, and Paul Evans, Andrew and Ian Welch, and Louis and Emily Nevala; five great grand-children, Jake and Tyler, Reese and Emma Evans, and Samuel Welch; and one sister, Esther Grant of Howard, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 1983; one daughter, Pamela Evans; five brothers, Oliver, Martin, Norman, Keith, and Dean; and two grandchildren, Heather Evans and Samuel Welch.
