Ethel A. Mastel, age 85, of Watertown and formerly of Huron, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Jenkins Living Center in Watertown. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Welter Funeral Home with inurnment at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Ethel was born on July 31, 1929 in Lake Norden, SD to Charles and Saima (Houtari) Nelson. Ethel was united in marriage to Lawrence Mastel in Huron where they resided for many years. She moved to Florence, SD in 2011 where she resided at the Country View Assisted Living Center. In 2014, she moved to Watertown where she resided at the Jenkins Living Center until her passing. Ethel enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by 4 children, Linda (Ron) Babb of Wasilla, AK, Arland (Karen) Mastel of Wallace, SD, Lois Dorris of Huron, and David (Sue) Mastel of Huron; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lawrence; 2 sons, Michael and Steven; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and 1 son-in-law, Jim Dorris.
