Obituary

Ethel M. Bloodgood, age 77, of 50 7th St. SE, Huron, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM Monday, March 29, at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Cathal Gallagher officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:30 PM Sunday evening followed by a Catholic Daughters Rosary at the funeral home. Ethel Bloodgood was born Ethel May Clarambeau on April 26, 1926, to Felix and Alice (Martell) Clarambeau at LAnse, MI. In 1928, she moved with her family to a farm north of Huron, and in 1935 to a farm south of Huron. She attended Miner Country School. On January 22, 1948, Ethel married Russel Bloodgood at Huron. The couple owned and operated a farm where Ethel was a homemaker. Her husband, Russel died on March 16, 1989. Ethel continued to live on the farm until October of 1996, when she moved to Sioux Falls. She returned to Huron in August of 2002. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Friendly Neighbors Extension Club, and a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her many interests included crocheting, quilting, ceramic crafts, yard work, gardening, reading, cooking, baking, music and playing the steel guitar. She is survived by 1 son, Bill (Carolyn) Bloodgood of Cavour; 1 daughter, Delores Dee Groth of Sioux Falls; 4 grandchildren, TSgt Todd Groth USAF, Heather (Sean) Hansen, Jayme (Barry) Hershman, and Jason Bloodgood; 3 great grandchildren, Connor Hansen, Skylar Hansen, and Jade Hansen; 1 brother, Harold (Lee) Clarambeau of Pierre; 4 sisters, Elta Betty Johnson of Huron, Mary Kay (Irvin) Tschetter of Huron, Wilma (Donald) North of Delavan, WI, and Pat (Lawrence) Lippert of Avalon, WI; 1 sister-in-law, Lois Clarambeau of Letcher; and 1 brother-in-law, Walt Gahl of Plains, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russel on March 16, 1989; 1 brother, Alton Clarambeau; 2 sisters, Lorraine North, and Avis Gahl; and 2 brothers-in-law, Danny Johnson, and Tim North.
