Esther Leyendecker, age 78, of Huron, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Her Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Huron Christian Church in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday morning at the church. Esther Jacobs was born on January 19, 1944 in Agra, Kansas to parents Charles and Lola (Murray) Jacobs. After graduation, Esther attended beauty school.

Esther married Rodney Leyendecker on August 1, 1969 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. The couple lived in various parts of the country due to Rod's work. They moved to Huron in 1975 where they raised their family. Esther enjoyed having coffee with her friends, baking and working as a home health aide until illness forced her to retire. She loved to attend her grandkids sporting events and school activities. Making trips to see her family was also important to her. She loved to be with her pets. Esther was a member of Huron Christian Church where she participated in the senior bible study.

Grateful to have shared in her life are her children, Jennifer Reuer of Webster, John (Kari Carstens) Leyendecker and Jason (Cheri) Leyendecker of Huron; six grandchildren, Amber Leyendecker, Justin Bremer, Michael Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Lindsey Leyendecker and Logan Leyendecker; three great-grandchildren, Delilah Leyendecker, Lennox and Emeree Bremer; and special cousin Leatrice Hanks.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rod in 2019; and her brother Carl Jacobs.
